03 / The backstory

A ridiculous name.
A useful idea.

“I smashed my TV” sounds like the end of a story.
We’d like it to be the beginning of a better next step.

A white lowercase information i in a blue circle

THE “i” IS FOR INFORMATION.

Where this starts

Your TV did
nothing wrong.

The idea is simple: use a little humor to open a useful conversation about broken televisions. What happens next? Is repair an option? Where can a TV go? What do we actually know?

The blue information symbol is the point of the name. This project is about making the next step easier to understand, with space for recycling information, source-led research, and eventually feedback.

The broken-screen look belongs in the artwork. The information should be clear.

First edition

Small on purpose.

This is our first design prototype. It gives the project a home before the directory and deeper research arrive.

Available
Homepage, recycling starting points, research overview, and this introduction.
In development
A verified recycling directory and full research articles.
Planned
A way to send feedback and a clearly defined feedback counter. Neither is collecting or counting submissions yet.

Privacy & site status

Just the site.

This prototype has no accounts, submission forms, location lookup, advertising, or site-added analytics. Fonts and artwork are served with the site. The feedback counter is not active.

Hosting infrastructure may process basic request information to deliver and protect the site. Linked external websites have their own privacy practices.

Recycling information here is a starting point. Confirm current acceptance details with a program before using it.
